Bolivar County Elections and Voting
Mississippi 2nd Congressional District Faces Run-Off Election!  Learn more...
Bolivar County will be among many other Mississippi counties participating in the June 1st, 2010 Republican Primary. Republicans will go to the polls this Summer to vote for one of the 3 candidates vying for candidacy in the November General Election against Congressman Bennie Thompson. The Republican Executive Committee Chair for Bolivar County, Mrs. Hilda Povall, along with the Bolivar County Election Commissioners, has worked and is still working diligently to ensure the June 1st Republican Primary will go smoothly.

As Circuit Clerk, one of my main concerns is that all voters are registered in time, 30 days prior to the election, and that current voters know where they are supposed to vote. Voters may contact my office at 843-2061 or they can simply go to our new Elections Portal (
www.bolivarms.myecounty.com/voting) online to view where they should vote.

I’m very concerned about the huge number of
jury summonses returned undelivered this year. This is an indicator that we have a lot of voters who have moved and have not notified the Clerk’s Office of their new location. These undelivered summonses will be forwarded to the appropriate Election Commissioner who will, in turn, make these voter records Inactive. This will cause a lot of voters to not be able to vote. So, I urge all Bolivar Countians to contact your Election Commissioner or contact the Circuit Clerk’s Office to update your voter record. We want all individuals to be able to exercise their right to vote.
